I really liked Luko\u0161aitis’s work for a number of reasons. The format of many A4 views communicates the enormous number of individual victims. The repetition of the progression from left to right gives one the feeling of a mechanistic process. I was affected by the details of household objects, the human scale of executions and burial pits. In Lithuania killers saw the faces of their victims; this was not one of the execution camps in Poland.<\/p>\n
